3-D/3-D Z-Scheme Heterojunction Composite Formed by Marimo-like Bi2WO6 and Mammillaria-like ZnO for Expeditious Sunlight Photodegradation of Dimethyl Phthalate

In the present work, we assessed photocatalytic performance of new 3-D/3-D Z-scheme heterojunction composite for degradation dimethyl phthalate (DMP). The was composed by marimo-like Bi2WO6 and mammillaria-like ZnO which named BWZ. successfully fabricated using a hydrothermal-precipitation method analyzed via different characterization techniques. Under natural sunlight irradiation, optimal with 20 wt% Bi2WO6/ZnO (20-BWZ) exhibited photodegradation rate constant 0.0259 min?1, reached 2.3 5.9-folds greater than those pure (0.0112 min?1) (0.0044 min?1), respectively. That predominantly attributed to formation system in as-synthesized reduced charge carrier recombination accelerated photoactivity. Transient photocurrent response electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analyses were performed confirm this conclusion. reusability test indicated that 20-BWZ had no significant deactivation after four runs, inferred good stability as-prepared composite. Furthermore, quenching demonstrated photogenerated hole, superoxide anion radical hydroxyl all involved DMP, among •OH principal reactive species. This work revealed BWZ composites have great potential applications refractory pollutants environmental remediation field.
